The Violence of Poverty - The cost of human trafficking1.00.00pm GMT Fri 5th Mar 2010
The Impressions Gallery in Bradford in collaboration with Autograph ABP presented a special evening of film screening and talks to support their exhibition 'not Natasha', under the title: 'The Violence of Poverty - The cost of human trafficking' Diana spoke on the issue of human trafficking expressing her concern that the momentum created by the UK Human Trafficking Centre in tackling the issue in a more victim-centred manner may be lost once the Centre is subsumed into SOCA (the Serious Organised Crimes Agency). "Dana Popa's exhibition of photographs 'not Natasha' is a moving testament that should stir us to take this issue much more seriously." Photo show Diana at the exhibition with Emma Boyd (centre) from ABP who presented the film 'Torture by any other name' and Ruth Beni, Film Director, who presented her film 'Two Little Girls' a powerful cautionary tale about the sex trafficking trade.
